Fire Hydrant Repair
We can handle nearly any repair you might need whether it is a fixing a leaking outlet cap or replacing an entire hydrant. Most repairs can be accomplished without digging and we can often diagnose problems over the phone, saving owners the expense of a service call. Some of the more common problems we correct include:

Inspection, Testing & Maintenance
To help owners ensure their fire protection equipment is available in the event it is needed, we perform fire hydrant inspections, testing and maintenance in accordance with nationally recognized NFPA standards. Written reports are provided after each service and any areas requiring attention are either identified or addressed. NFPA standards require that flow tests be performed every 5th year to verify that all underground and above ground equipment is capable of delivering an adequate supply of water in the event of a fire. We believe the most cost effective way to ensure fire hydrants are available when needed is to inspect, test and maintain them regularly in accordance with NFPA guidelines. Not only does this ensure hydrants are ready for action but this saves owners money because small problems can be identified before they become expensive to correct. We offer service contracts at discounted rates to encourage owners to perform this important and cost saving maintenance.

We provide parts and service for post indicator and service gate valves. We find that these are often the most neglected pieces of equipment in a fire protection system. The post indicator valve (PIV) is used to control water from the public system and is designed to be either fully closed or open. PIVs are characterized by a post with an operating handle or wrench often padlocked in place and a window indicating that the valve is either open or closed. Service gate valves are used to control water to individual hydrants and are buried in close proximity to the hydrant identified by a small cover over the "valve pot". Through periodic inspections, exercising and flow testing we can ensure these components are functioning properly.
